Custom Army

Author: Diana Gabaldon

Lord John Series

Synopsis: Taking place after the war. Lord John is requested to travel to Canada to help a friend. In the midst of being there, he encounters Indians and enters fighting that he didn’t expect to deal with.

Review: Like the synopsis, this novella was really short and to be honest, really boring. While I know it was necessary (it sets up one of the later Lord John novellas), I still found it very dull. I didn’t feel the Lord John personality that I’ve come to like so much. I do wish I read this novella in the appropriate order of the rest, then maybe just maybe I would have enjoyed it better.

Has anyone else read this?
